Tropical beaches and tropical islands are located within 23 1/2 degrees either north or south of the equator. They enjoy warm weather year round with plenty of sunshine and warmth. Depending on where you are headed, there are many tropical destinations around the world, including Hawaii, Fiji, the Caribbean, and Bora Bora.

Hawaii

The Aloho State of Hawaii offers you several different islands and beaches. Oahu Island is the most popular, home to the infamous Waikiki Beach and Honolulu, the state's capital. Maui offers you several luxury resorts, 16 golf courses, and a 10,023 foot volcano. Molokai and Lanai can both be reached by ferry from Maui, or you can simply fly there from Honolulu. Hawaii's Big Island is the largest of all islands, featuring Volcanoes National Park, with amazing waterfalls and breathtaking beaches. Kauai is known for it's tropical vegetation and has even been used for setting of many Hollywood movies.

Caribbean Islands

The Caribbean Islands are comprised of many different large and smal islands, including the Bahamas, Jamaica, Barbados, the Virgin Islands, British Virgin Islands, and Anguila, just to name a few. The Caribbean Islands offer splendid beaches, crystal clear water, and warm weather. The vacation activities include diving, swimming, snorkeling, sailing, and even fishing.

Fiji Island, South Pacific Ocean

The island of Fiji is comprised of many tropical islands that are famous for their azure waters and sandy beaches. There are several resorts for you to choose from, including the Fiji Islands Resort and the Yasawa Island Resort.

Bora Bora

Bora Bora is one of the most amazing islands in Tahiti, which is located south of the equator - in the same time zone as Hawaii. The beaches here are protected by coral reef. The tropical island of Bora Bora is home to several resorts, and breathtaking scenery.

Maui Beach in Northern California

West Maui beaches. If you plan to visit Lahaina, dont miss to Maui beach. You'll see many breath taking beaches along the coast. Over three mile of the Kaanapali beach, it has a beautiful white sand you can enjoy variety activites included ride jetsky, play the beach ball, make a castle sand and many else. The famous places to snorkeling is on the north end of the beach is called Black Rock. Most of the visitor likes sandy beach at Napili Bay because there are no highrise buildings around, and the bay is protected well from waves.

South Maui Beaches
If you travel more to the south Maui Beach, you will find less crowded people in the beach. I dont know why this happend. Maybe the visitor like to enjoy with another people.

Dont miss at Kihei that will offer you the lifeguard, restrooms and picnic areas. Both Polo Beach and Wailea Beach for restroom and equipment are for rental. Or, if you prefer a more secluded beach, you should visit Maluaka Beach at the Maui Prince Hotel - where you may even encounter somegreen sea turtles.

Maui Prince Hotel is the Big Beach of Makena, and the praticial beach if you wanna see the greastes beach which is one of the best beaches on Maui. As the name implies, the beach is quite large, and best of all - empty. It offers white sand, picnic facilities, and even restrooms.

Maui Beaches
The island of Maui is home to some of the most amazing beaches. Some beaches offer swimming all year round, while others are best for surfing or snorkeling during certain times of the year. Depending on where you choose to stay, there are always some famous beaches nearby.

The Red Sand Beach is difficult to get to, you'll need to find a narrow path along the coast. The beach offers plenty of swimming and snorkeling, and you should be the only one there - which is great for those looking for privacy. Even though it is hard to get to, Red Sand Beach is truly one of a kind.

I love Caneel Bay

Racking up quite a few awards and recommendations throughout its existence, the Caneel Bay resort arguably offers low key luxury at its best. Perhaps that’s why it’s been a favorite of discerning travelers for decades now. Hailed as the first eco-resort in the Caribbean, Caneel Bay was the brainchild of millionaire Laurance S. Rockefeller, who conceived the idea for the property in the mid-1950's. It’s found on the glorious island of St John, which is one of the main United States Virgin Islands. Since two-thirds of St John has been dedicated as a U.S. National Park, those seeking the great outdoors on their USVI vacation will certainly find plenty of nature here. According to some, St John is the prettiest of the United States Virgin Islands, and when you choose to stay at the Cannel Bay St John resort, you’ll be enjoying not only a beautiful setting, but also an exceedingly fun and relaxing time.

One of the best attributes of Caneel Bay is its location. An exclusive resort, Caneel Bay offers a pristine setting with no less than 7 staggering beaches to choose from. Since the resort is found within the Virgin Islands National Park, guests can feel free to properly disconnect themselves from the hectic world they’ve likely left behind. With 170 lush acres on hand, there seems little end to the amount of exploration that Caneel Bay guests can enjoy, and when it’s time to refuel, the resort’s excellent cuisine surely hits the spot. Dine at the elegant Turtle Bay Estate House, and you’ll not only savor the sumptuous food, but also the inspiring views out over the peninsula. Perhaps in the afternoon you’ll be up for a nice cocktail or cup of tea on the Turtle Bay Estate terrace. For those looking to enjoy something a bit more action-packed, there are plenty of other things to get into at the Caneel Bay St John resort as well.

As mentioned earlier, seven glorious beaches can be taken advantage of by those staying at the Caneel Bay resort. Regardless of which Caneel Bay beach you choose, you can expect coconut palms and seagrape trees for shade, soft white sand for comfort, and rich blue-green water to round everything out. Chances are good that your experience at a Caneel Bay beach will be an ideal one. Perhaps you’ll just be up for sunbathing, or maybe you’ll grab some complimentary snorkeling gear to see what lies beneath the sea’s surface. An introductory scuba clinic is offered in the rates as a Caneel Bay package bonus, so if you’ve ever wanted to try your hand at scuba diving, the Caneel Bay St John resort is an excellent place to get started. There are also kayaks and small sailboats available to guests free of charge, as well as a list of other complimentary services. If you have room in the budget, there are also scores of activities here to enjoy at an additional charge. They include sailing trips, guided snorkeling tours, tours of St John, power boat rentals, and scuba diving instruction, to name a few.

Of course, if you’re thinking of arranging a Caneel Bay vacation, you might be wondering about the resort’s rooms. There are 166 guest units to choose from at Caneel Bay, and they are spread out over much of the resort’s lush grounds. Each guest room is luxuriously decorated, being mindful of not going way over the top. Hand-crafted furniture, premium fabrics, and native stonework are just some of the added touches that make the Caneel Bay guest rooms so wonderful. Air-conditioning and ceiling fans are standard amenities throughout, but you won’t find any televisions or telephones in the rooms here. No sir, you’re here to unwind and leave it all behind. The rooms here are exceedingly comfortable, though, and since they are equipped with coffee makers, bathrobes, safes, mini-bars, free bottled water, bath products, and more, you’ll certainly enjoy a sufficient amount of modern conveniences. Outside of the rooms, there are telephone pavilions for guests to use, so if you should need to make some calls to arrange tours or things the like, you will be able to do so.

There are different room choices available for those planning a Caneel Bay vacation, and arguably, the 5 rooms in Cottage #7 are the most desirable. You’ll hardly be upset whichever room you choose, though, especially since you’ll likely be spending quite a bit of time outside your quarters. There are a dozen tennis courts on-hand if you like to play, and as mentioned, you can enjoy a number of activities at a Caneel Bay Beach. There is a children’s center that can come in quite handy if you are traveling with kids, and the fitness center and pool are ideal spots to spend some down time. If you can’t make it over to St Croix for a tour of the Cruzan Rum Distillery, you might entertain the notion of attending a rum-tasting demonstration at Caneel Bay. There’s just so much to talk about when it comes to the Caneel Bay St John resort. So plan your Caneel Bay vacation today, and see firsthand why it’s easily one of the top United States Virgin Islands resorts. As a side note, most guests at Caneel Bay fly first into the island of St Thomas. There is a Caneel Bay reception area at the St Thomas airport, and from there you’ll be transported via bus and ferry to the resort on St John.

Belize Trip Reviews - Belize Jungle Dome - March 2010

The cool night air brushes across me as I reflect on the all-too-quickly passing 2 ½ days spent here. The peaceful evening noises remind me of last night’s serenade by the howler monkeys who’ve been hanging out in the tree across the river. The relative poverty and dusty landscape around and the wonderfully tended grounds and rich beauty of the Dome, the shrieking exhilaration of the zip line, then winding down with a drink and quiet conversation by the pool; and us 4 women in our 50’s and 60’s tubing through a cave, then enjoying meals with the other guests (20’s and 30’s).

Especially enjoyable was the ‘feel’ of the place – the guests who chose to come here (from all parts of the world) meld and mesh. There was a perfect balance of time with others and time with our small group. Taking breakfast and dinner together is a big part of what defines this place. There is an openness and intimacy that is completely unintrusive.

Thanks to all of the amazing staff and to our fellow guests for a wonderful stay.

Everything was great and wouldn’t have missed it – we feel so privileged to have walked where the Mayans walked and learned about them. I repeat everything written before me. The only addition I would make is a map so we can visually see the areas we have been. As we roll out of here (because of all the great food) many thanks to Karen, David, Luis and the cooks!

The Best Beaches in Spain

We all want something different from a beach. Whether you prefer facilities, peace, privacy or entertainment here are a few Spanish beaches which come highly recommended.
.... to go with children
Look for beaches with fine sand, without stones or pebbles and with wooden walkways to the shore because these are easier to walk on. The best beaches for children are those which have shallow water and only very small waves. In addition, access should be easy and comfortable for buggies and it should have good facilities: foot washers, showers, easily visible danger signs, assistance points, play areas and shady places. If children are small, it is important to check out nearby toilet and changing facilities. To keep them amused, choose beaches with activity centres and supervised courses for windsurfing, swimming or fishing.

La Costilla y El Rompidillo on the Costa Ballena (Cádiz)

Situated between Rota and Chipiona, there are seven kilometres of fine sandy beaches, which are not dangerous and which have all sorts of facilities. The children can be kept amused for hours watching the corrals, small stone walls in the sea where fish, shrimps and crayfish are trapped at low tide.
....in the city
Do you prefer not to lose sight of civilization while you swim? Then city beaches are for you. The best thing is that you don't have to go far to find them - they are separated from the shops and offices by a promenade, from which you can access the sand by means of ramps and steps.

La Concha in San Sebastián (Guipúzcoa).

Queen María Cristina elevated it to the status of "the" place to spend summer, at the end of the nineteenth century and, from that time, it has kept its charm. Framed by its two mountains, Igueldo and Urgull, the beautiful beach is bordered by superb decorative walkway. In the centre of the bay is Stanta Clara Island and lighthouse, which can be reached by ferry in the summer.
....for nudists
If when it gets hot, you find clothes are too much, you'll surely enjoy naturism, which consists, among other things, of living the beach experience in your birthday suit or "how your mother brought you into the world" as the Spanish put it. Well, you can wear a thong if you want. In Spain there are several hundred beaches with a nudist tradition which goes back to the 1960s, the majority with difficult access and unspoilt scenery. As well, there are those which must live with the "textiles" (as naturists call those who don't go nude) in separate zones, including certain remote caves in which there is a natural mixture of bathing costumes and exposed skin. You can also find areas of coast specifically for nudism; authentic naturist centres, equipped with all types of set up (hotels, supermarkets, swimming pools) for those who go around completely naked.
Cala Fonda, in Altafulla (Tarragona).
Also known as Waikiki Beach, it is situated in the middle of a leafy pine grove and sheltered by a vertical cliff which makes access difficult. Precisely because of the complications of getting here (it is necessary to walk more than a kilometre through woods), it has become a complete nudist paradise. There are more than 200 metres of fine sand with clear water and absolutely nothing else.
...for friends of the wild and the natural
The more difficult the paths are to negotiate, the more possibilities you have to have the beach to yourself. These coastal spots well deserve a hike of several hours, but to be remote from civilization as well implies a total absence of infrastructure, so don't forget to carry a good supply of water with you and whatever you need to give you some shade. The locals know the best places and how to get to them, so use your charm to get the information from them.

Los Genoveses, in San José (Almería).

Positioned in the heart of the Parque Natural del Cabo de Gata, you get there by a small earth road, sign posted from the town of San José. The small bay of Los Genoveses (so called because in its day, it was an anchorage for pirate ships) opens up to the left of the road and has an improvised parking area. It is a beach of dunes, surrounded by vegetation.
