Do you want to camp on a beach in Hawaii but don’t feel like worrying about camping gear? The Beach Village at Molokai Ranch offers an upscale version of camping with all the modern conveniences. Guests stay in canvas tentalows on wooden platforms featuring hot showers and electricity provided by solar energy.
Things to Do
The Beach Village is located on a secluded spot, about 30 minutes by car from the Lodge at Molokai Ranch. Beach vacation activities include swimming, stargazing and tidal pool exploration. Molokai Ranch offers a range of vacation activities, including biking, kayaking, sailing, surfing, paintball games and archery. You can sign up at the activities center near the main lodge.
The Beach
The beach is part sand part rocks which means that you will have to be careful getting into the water. There are tidal pools where you can spot tropical fish, crabs and other sea life during a low tide.
Where to Eat
An open-air restaurant next to the beach serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can also drive up to the main lodge and dine with a view of the valley and the ocean at the Molokai Lodge.
Getting There
From the Lodge at Molokai Ranch, take the road paved with crushed shells to the beach. The drive takes about 30 minutes. You’ll need to sign a waiver and pick up a remote from the main lodge to open a gate along the way. If you prefer, there is a shuttle that takes guests from the lodge to the beach, but you’ll have to depend on the schedule
