Larry, Lori, Ben & Melanie Spiegel from New York, USA

To Our Jungle Dome Family:

Our top favorite things on our family vacation:

1. Belize Zoo (specifically the tamandua)
2. Trip to Guatemala and the Mayan ruins of Tikal
3. Cave Tubing
4. Horseback riding (NOT! Too bumpy and look out for the sticker bush)
5. Max (even though he needs a bath)
6. Phoebe (cleaner than Max but not as good at playing catch)
7. Chico at Banana Bank
8. Very good food and hospitality
9. Accommodating our picky eater children Ben & Melanie
10. All the things we forgot….it was a great vacation!

Getting Ready for LA RUTA MAYA

We arrived from Texas today and will be hanging around a couple of days. Our son is participating in Belize’s annual canoe race with a fellow paddler from Texas ~ Richard Steppe ~ and Belizian Great Alex Lisby. Our longtime friends from California met us here and it is going to be great catching up! Cave Tube tour tomorrow then the race begins Friday…..this trip is to celebrate my 50th birthday 28th anniversary with the sexiest man alive! To be continued…..

March 3, 2006….
Our last night here….it’s been great! Everyone here makes you feel like family…so warm and caring. (I just read some past entries in this guest book and apparently everyone feels this way after a stay at the Jungle Dome!)
The race has begun and our guys are going for it! We will continue to follow the race but down the river.

Live strong & prosper!

".....I just don't feel that I express enough the thanks I have for your committment to making my stay warm, friendly and homelike. It is rare, in the travels that I have done, to meet someone (karen) that is so dedicated to making every aspect of a vacation perfect. You have done this. Never in my life have I wanted to stay at the same place when I return, until now

All of you at the Jungle Dome made it very hard to leave. Again, thank you.The jungle dome should be visited by every woman that has a 20year old wanting to come out. I was able to remember all that I did growing up and realizing that at 42 I can still do it. I left the Jungle Dome with the I CAN DO IT mentality......." - Linda Meneghini.

Guest Comments from Faith, Brian, Mitch and Sarah

Unbelievable, amazing, outrageous, wonderful, fantastic, perfect…..we just can’t find the right word to describe our vacation. The Jungle Dome is the perfect place to stay & relax after the adventures we went on. From rappelling 300 feet into the Black Hole to traveling to Caracol and venturing the Big Rock Falls! It was always so nice to come back to the Dome for an afternoon swim.

Everyone here at the Jungle Dome is so caring, it made the vacation that much more enjoyable. Karen is the sweetest….all of our excursions went so smoothly thanks to her. Also, we cannot forget the homemade cooking….Brian got so used to homemade cooking, I may have to learn how to cook w hen I return to NYC! I may need to get some recipes…especially for the bread.

Thanks for the best vacation ever!

I don’t know where to begin. This trip has been unbelievable. Everyone at the Jungle Dome has been incredible. Karen, you’ve hooked everything up and it’s all been perfect! All the trips were amazing. The Black Hole Drop…Damn! Caracol left me speechless! Just hanging by the pool drinking Belikins, eating great food, watching birds and doing very little was also a highlight. I only wish we had more time here. Thanks also to Gonzo, John & Andy. Hope to see you soon!

Christine Kim climbing out of the Black Hole Drop, deep in the jungle of central america.

Picnic at the bottom of the Black Hole Drop Caving Adventure. After a 300ft drop through a sink hole and a 2 hour jungle hike, a well deserved meal.
