When we were planning this trip, 4 nights sounded like plenty of time to spend here. Now that it’s time to fly home tomorrow, we certainly wish we had more time here. Everything about this vacation has been fantastic. Each of the tours we took were excellent.Manuel was a great guide for the ATM trip and a special treat was that the archaeologist (his uncle) was leading a group of students through the cave that day so we got to listen in on his lecture as well. Carlos was our guide for both Caracol and cave tubing. He was so fun and friendly and obviously has a genuine interest in what he is doing. He is so knowledgeable about local history, plants, animals, etc. Thanks to Carlos we got to taste both sugar cane and termites today.
Aside from the tours, everyone at the Jungle Dome is just wonderful. It felt more like visiting friends and family than staying at a resort. Having dinner and sharing the great food and stories with other guests was a great way to end the days.
When we were planning this trip, I think I read a review on Tripadvisor from a guest who said that if you stayed here you would be planning your next trip here before you even left…they were right!
